Frozen Ghost Banana Treats.

After a looong week I am back! Had to wait for my laptop charger to come in the mail, which seemed like it took forever! Now I am back to my old routines. 😉

Anyways, here is a little easy Halloween treat!

These little frozen bananas are so cute! Perfect for a little snack or an after dinner treat.

Things you need:

Bananas.(cut in half)

White chocolate.

Chocolate chips.

Popsicle sticks.

Cut your bananas in half and put the popsicle stick in the cut off end. Place the bananas on wax paper in a cookie sheet.

Stick them in the freezer for about an hour or two. Once frozen, melt your white chocolate in the microwave. I used Hershey’s white chocolate chips. Dip, or pour your melted chocolate onto your bananas. Since the bananas are frozen the chocolate gets hard very quickly, so you have to move fast. When the whole banana is covered in your white chocolate place your chocolate chips on it for eyes and a mouth. Pop them back in the freezer for another hour or two. Pretty much until your little ghosts are frozen completely.

Go ahead and eat these cuties up!

How can you resist these cute little owls?!

Things you need:

-Any cake mix

-Oreos

-M&Ms or Reese Pieces

-Frosting

Mix your cake mix according to package. I used German Chocolate cake. Pour your mixture into your cupcake pan and bake it until fully done. Let your cupcakes cool for about an hour. Frost them with your frosting. I used Milk Chocolate for mine.

Divide your Oreos and place them on both sides. Those are going to be your eyes. Take your M&Ms and dip a little bit of frosting on the “M” side and place them on top of the Oreos. Then take your orange M&M and place it in the middle of the Oreos for your nose. There ya go! Cute little owl cupcakes! Simple and delicious!!

Product of the month: OCTOBER!

Posted on

Happy October everyone!!!

I have been thinking about doing a “product of the month” for a while now. You know, since I do hair and all. It might end up being “product of the week” instead though, who knows!

So, one of my FAVORITE products I use daily is the BIGSEXYHAIR hairspray. This has to be one of my favorite hairsprays EVER. It doesn’t weight your hair down, gives you the right amount of volume AND gives you a strong hold through out the day! I absolutely LOVE it!

Another reason I chose this product in particular is that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Sexy Hair donates a portion from the sale of each can to “Look Good Feel Good”. It’s a non-profit organization that helps women cope with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatments.

This has to be the perfect product to purchase this month. Not only will you love how it works on your hair, but the proceeds go to an amazing cause! I am sure ever women can relate to this post in some way or other. Just go to your local salon for the BIGSEXYHAIR products, sometimes the salons themselves also donate a percentage of the proceeds towards the cause. Give this little hairspray a try! You wont be disappointed. (Most salons carry a 7 day guarantee, if you’re not satisfied you can exchange the product or get your money back!)

There’s no better feeling then helping out a great cause. Enjoy your October everyone!

My Birthday!

September is one of my favorite months, mostly because it’s my birthday month. 🙂 The girls from work got me a Hello Kitty cake the day before my birthday. (I took off work for a few days to celebrate.) 😉

Isn’t it the cutest?!

♥

My boyfriend took me out to dinner on the Victorian Princess cruise later that evening.

Our love for coffee! haha.

My chocolate cake for dessert!

Isn’t the sunset just beautiful? It was so nice and peaceful on the lake that night.

It was a perfect night, couldn’t ask for anything more. 🙂

♥

On my actual birthday, the 29th of September, I went to the annual Wine Fest. This event was on my “things to do before 30 list”.  I got to cross one thing off my list so far! One down, 29 more to go!  Anyways, I went and did the wine tastings and tours at the local grape farms.

They even had a clown at one of the tours!!!

My wine glass I got from the Wine Fest. Starting a collection since I plan on going EVERY year. 😉

The shirts they had there. I thought this one was cute.

Well, this pretty much sums up my little birthday adventures! I had a great time, thanks to my friends and family!!!

********UPDATE!*******

My best friend since second grade got me this adorable ice cream cake. It has my photo on it and everything! How stinking cute is that! This would be the first time I got to eat my own face! haha. 😉

DIY: Twine Pumpkin

Have you ever went to a craft store or any other store looking for your fall decor? Only to find that the specific item will cost you an arm and a leg? One of my goals this year is to decorate my little apartment without spending hundreds of dollars. So far so good!

Now, have you seen those twig/twine pumpkins with the little lights inside them at your favorite craft store? I always wanted one of those, until I found out they are $25+!!! Some even go over $40! I just couldn’t spend THAT much money on something that I could just make myself. With a little bit of research I discovered how to make my own on Recaptured Charm. The best part about this project, was that EVERYTHING came from the dollar store.

Things you need:

-White glue.(or Mod Podge.)

-Balloons.

-Gloves(optional).

-Scissors.

-Sponge brush.

-Jute twine.

-Stick (found in your backyard)

-Spray Paint

-Battery operated tea light or twinkle lights.

First thing you do is blow up your balloon to whatever size you want your pumpkin to be.

Cover your entire balloon with glue. I used the sponge brush to do that. Cut long pieces of twine and dip them into the white glue. I used a paper bowl to hold all of my glue. Make sure the twine is SOAKED in glue before you wrap your balloon. The more glue the better.

Make sure to leave a hole at the top of the balloon and a hole at the bottom. You need enough room for a battery operated tea light or some twinkle lights to go in. And a hole for your stick. I measured my stick so I knew how big to leave the hole at the top. Once dry, pop the balloon.

I used a hot glue gun to glue my stick in the hole of my pumpkin.

After the hot glue dries, go ahead and spray paint your pumpkin any color you’d like! (I used gold to match my living room.)) You can use orange, yellow, brown, bronze, what ever you have in mind! Get creative with it! Insert your tea light or twinkle lights and you’re done! (Please don’t insert actual candles in your pumpkin, they may start a fire.)

It’s the PERFECT center piece for our coffee table. I just absolutely love it! The little colorful leaves and the glass pumpkins I also got from the dollar store. Don’t underestimate the power of a dollar! 😉

DIY: Marble Magnets.

Yes I know that pretty much EVERYONE has made these. So of course I had to try it out too! These little magnets are just so adorable and super easy to make. Plus it cost me under $5! I think I will make more later. 😉

Things you need:

-Mod Podge

-Super glue/ gorilla glue

-Magnets

-Flat glass marbles

-Scissors

-Scrapbook paper/magazines/old cards

Measure and trace your glass marble on your scrapbook paper and cut it out. I got the glass marbles at the dollar store. The scrapbook paper I already had. You can use magazines, maps, old cards, pretty much anything!

Now mod podge the cut out onto the marble. Make sure to press firmly and get rid of as much air bubbles as you can. Once dry, super glue your magnet on the back. I got the super glue at Micheal’s for under $3 with a coupon. 😉 I already had mod podge on hand, so that didn’t cost me anything.

Let everything dry for a few good hours. I put a few heavy books on top of them to make sure they dry nice and firm.

Once dry, go a head and decorate your fridge, locker, whatever you like! They make great gifts too!

Breakfast Pancake Muffins.

As I was browsing through pinterest, like always, I stumbled upon this delicious recipe. I just had to make it right away! I did alter the recipe just a tad bit.

Things you need:

Boxed pancake mix

Milk

Fruit (any kind)

Cinnamon

Bacon/Sausage

Maple Syrup

Preheat your oven to 350. Mix your pancake mix with the milk instead of water. I did about 3 cups of pancake mix and about 4 cups of milk. After that, spray your muffin sheet with cooking spray. Pour your pancake mix about half or three quarters of the way.

Slice up your fruit, I used banana and strawberries. ( Blueberries, apples, raspberries, ect will do also.) Drop a few pieces of your fruit on top of each muffin. Just make sure the top is mostly covered. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top. You can add a little bit of sugar if you’d like them to be a little sweeter.

Put your muffins in the oven for about 12-15 minutes. Stick a toothpick in them to make sure they are done. Let it cool, pour maple syrup on them and enjoy!

You can also make them with bacon or sausage. Make sure you cook the meat all the way before putting it in the muffins.
